Unterföhring, 12 December 2013 - Just in time for the holiday season, Sky is expanding its on demand offering with the launch of Snap on 12 December. This new online media library from Sky provides an exciting addition to the market leading offering already available to Sky customers via the Sky Go service - Snap is available to those without a Sky subscription as well. Snap offers thousands of titles, from complete season box-sets of award-winning series, to the biggest hits from the HBO library, the greatest movies of the last decades, and an incredible selection of children's programmes, including exclusive highlights from the world of Disney. Through comprehensive partnerships with Hollywood studios and many independents, Snap provides a great range of titles from "The Hangover" to "Happy Feet", as well as "Mission Impossible 1-3", "How I Met Your Mother" and even all seasons of "24". The content portfolio will be extended daily, including the addition of at least one new movie each and every day, so there is always something new and exciting to explore. Customers can choose whether they would like to watch titles in German or the original language.

From the start Snap will also have the most extensive HBO catalogue available anywhere, including "Boardwalk Empire", "True Blood" and all seasons of series such as "The Sopranos" and "Sex and the City". In the coming months exclusive HBO highlights like "Game of Thrones" will join the selection. The full range of movies and series will be available on demand via the web, iPad or Samsung Smart TV. The iPhone will be added soon, Samsung Galaxy products as well as other platforms and devices will follow. For even more flexibility, many programs can be downloaded on the iPad and watched offline regardless of where the user is, and whether or not they are connected. Everyone who prefers a bigger screen can watch via the Samsung Smart TV app (as extension of a comprehensive partnership exclusively available until the end of 2014), or can transfer films and series directly from the iPad to the TV set via AirPlay on Apple TV.

For additional convenience, Sky's experienced programming editorial team will deliver constantly updating Playlists and Specials, to make it easier to decide which program to watch. With the Watch List, titles can be bookmarked for later viewing, which is then seamlessly synchronised across all devices.

Everybody who registers for the first time at www.skysnap.de can test out the new online video service until the end of the respective month at no cost. Afterwards, the entire world of Snap is available for €9.90 per month with only a month-to-month commitment. For launch, the free trial for Sky customers has been extended until the end of January 2014, and after that period they benefit from an exclusive customer price, as Sky customers can book the service for just €4.90 per month.
