Continues to support underprivileged students in online learning

(Hong Kong, 7th March 2022) SmarTone continues to respond proactively to the needs of the community. Following the provision of free basic mobile service to Caritas Youth and Community Service during the school closure last year, SmarTone is again donating 1,000 data cards to support underprivileged students in conducting online learning during the suspension of face-to-face classes, to soften the impact of the pandemic on their learning progress and alleviate their pressing needs.

The data cards have been distributed to eligible grassroots students, who have been assessed by professional social workers and received Caritas Youth and Community Service for an extended period, through six Caritas Community Centres. Throughout the pandemic, SmarTone partnered with Caritas Youth and Community Service to provide online learning support to 3,200 disadvantaged households.
