SMRT is offering greater convenience to wheelchair passengers. A total of 37 Wheelchair Accessible Buses (WAB) will be introduced to four more service routes: 803, 927, 961 and 972. This brings the total number of WAB services to 42.

Training has also been given to SMRT Bus Captains to provide assistance to wheelchair-bound passengers when needed. Procedures are in place to ensure that the passenger is seated with his seatbelt in place and that his wheels are secure before the bus re-commences its journey. Our Bus Captains will also help the passenger tap his EZ-Link card and stow the ramp to its original position before opening the front door to allow other passengers to board.

SMRT remains committed to delivering safe and reliable bus journeys for all our passengers and will continue to explore ways to enhance our commuters' experience.

Please refer to the attached poster, or http://www.smrt.com.sg/RiderGuide/Accessibility.aspx for more details on the new and existing WAB services.

Passengers may contact SMRT Customer Relations Centre at 1800-336-8900 from 7am to 11pm on weekdays and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays (excluding public holidays) or visit www.smrt.com.sg for more information.
