CORK, IRELAND--(Marketwired - Oct 6, 2014) - The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton, today announced that SolarWinds, a leading provider of powerful and affordable IT management software, expects to create up to 100 new jobs over the next two years at the company's Cork office.

This investment is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, through IDA Ireland.

SolarWinds has increased its headcount by over 35% in the last year. Its Europe, Middle East and African (EMEA) headquarters opened in 2007 in Cork and currently employs over 140 employees. In addition to expanding its workforce, SolarWinds has expanded its office space with an additional 7,100 square feet in City Gate, Cork City. Operations in its EMEA HQ include: multilingual sales and technical support, international finance (outside of North America), HR, marketing and customer service. SolarWinds' EMEA operations have also recently added products for sale from SolarWinds' acquisitions of N-able and Confio.

Welcoming today's announcement, Minister Bruton said, "A key part of our Action Plan for Jobs is to support jobs growth software companies, both Irish and multinational. In recent years we have seen an impressive jobs performance in this industry. Today's announcement that SolarWinds, a leading global software company, is expanding its operations in Cork with the creation of 100 new jobs is a great boost for this strategy -- and above all, a great boost for Cork. I wish Bart and his team every success with their operations here, and look forward to working closely with them as they continue to expand their employment here."

"Our continued investment in our EMEA office is testament to our appreciation for the talent in the area," said Bart Kalsu, executive vice president and chief accounting officer, SolarWinds. "Cork is a well-respected technology hub and we're proud to be expanding our roots here in City Gate. We've recently expanded our office and look forward to continuing to fill the space with a team of dedicated, technically-skilled and creative individuals."

"Establishing our EMEA headquarters in Cork has enabled us to grow existing markets and enter new ones across the region," said David Owens, senior vice president finance and operations international, SolarWinds. "Building on this success, we plan to accelerate our expansion by continuing to benefit from the pool of highly skilled technical talent available and working closely with local third-level internship programmes. We recognise our Cork office as a centre of excellence for the services and levels of support delivered to our customers throughout the region."

Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA Ireland said "The growth of SolarWinds' EMEA operations proves Ireland's ability to provide the right conditions for businesses to prosper. SolarWinds' expansion will strengthen and further embed its operations here in Cork. IDA Ireland welcomes SolarWinds' commitment to Ireland and wishes them every success as they continue to develop in Ireland."
