Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs and Food Hari Ram Kishori Lal on Monday inaugurated upgradation of Mirpurkhas gas supply line to 12" diameter at near Paleejani district Matiari. Provincial minister's political secretary Advocate Heera Lal and officials of Sui Southern Gas Company were present. Addressing on the occasion, minister said that 34 years ago 8" diameter gas supply line had been inaugurated which was insufficient for fast growing population of city and added that citizens were facing difficulties due to load shedding and low pressure of gas. He added that old demand of Mirpurkhas citizens, have been fulfilled today. Not only Mirpurkhas, NuaKot and it's adjourning population will be benefitted with the project. Besides, he said district Tando Allahyar population will also get benefits as gas pipeline passes via Tando Allahyar to Its destination Mirpurkhas. Giving account, the provincial minister told that on his request in 2013, then President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari approved the

scheme and directed Sui Southern Gas Company to complete the scheme. The SSGC had started development work on the upgradation of 8" diameter pipeline into 12' diameter but development work halted following the completion of Pakistan Peoples Party government tenure . He said that unfortunately this people welfare scheme delayed for 7 years. He said that with grace of today scheme was completed and it was an other gift for the people of Mirpurkhas people. He said that Pakistan Peoples Party believes in service of people and added that Sindh government has taken commendable steps for transformation of Mirpurkhas into an other city center of the province lessed with modern metro facilities. He said that after completion of bulk water supply scheme, mega sewerage project and city roads schemes, the upgradation of gas pipeline another addition to city facilities. He said that his sole mission was to serve the humanity and added that after 50 years, Mirpurkhas city has been focused in terms of development schemes.
