Supermax Corporation Berhad reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended December 31, 2021. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was MYR 523.54 million compared to MYR 1,998.65 million a year ago. Net income was MYR 47.84 million compared to MYR 1,059.46 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was MYR 0.0183 compared to MYR 0.4104 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was MYR 1,979.2 million compared to MYR 3,351.18 million a year ago. Net income was MYR 686.37 million compared to MYR 1,848.98 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was MYR 0.2622 compared to MYR 0.7162 a year ago.
Supermax Corporation Berhad is an investment holding company, engaged in the production of rubber gloves. The Company operates through four segments: Investment holding, Manufacturing of gloves, Trading of gloves and Others. The Company is an international manufacturer, distributor, and marketer of medical gloves. It manufactures various types of nitrile latex and natural rubber gloves, which are exported to over 165 countries around the world, such as the United States of America, European Union, Middle East, Asia, and South Pacific countries. The Company owns a range of brands, such as Supermax, Aurelia and Maxter, which are used by laboratories, hospitals, pharmacists, doctors, and surgeons throughout the world. It produces over 26 billion pieces of gloves per year. It has approximately eight distribution centres based in the United States of America, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, and United Kingdom.
