The board of directors of Swee Hong Limited announced that it has been informed by Mr. Ong Hock Leong's lawyers that a bankruptcy order has been made on 18 February 2016 against Mr. Ong. Consequently, his office as director of the company is vacated in accordance with Article 96(1)(iv) of the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the company and Section 148 of the Companies Act, Chapter 50. The company further announced that Mr. Ong will also cease to act as the managing director and the group chief executive officer with effect from 18 February 2016.

In view of Mr. Ong's experience, the board has requested and Mr. Ong has agreed to remain as an advisor to the board and management team of the company. The board also announced that Mr. Mohamed Amanullah has been appointed as the acting group chief executive officer of the company and its subsidiaries with effect from 19 February 2016, to ensure continuity of operations of the Group. Mr. Aman is part of the management team of the group in the capacity as the Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Aman will be responsible for the operational efficiency of the group and ensuring operational support for development of the group's businesses.
