Taruga Minerals Limited announced that the exploration licence application for the Curnamona Project has been offered to Taruga by the South Australian Department of Energy and Mining. The acquisition of the Curnamona Project is consistent with Taruga's focus on underexplored prolific polymetallic mineral provinces in close proximity to a number of world- class copper, gold and uranium resources. The project is highly prospective for copper, gold, uranium and rare earth elements, and is centred around the MacArthur fault and its associated magnetic anomaly, which does not appear to have undergone any substantial systematic exploration.

Highlights: Taruga has acquired 100% of a 491km2 tenement package in the Curnamona region of South Australia. The tenement is pending formal transition from an Exploration Licence Application (ELA) to an Exploration Licence (EL). The Curnamona region is an established copper, gold and uranium province and home to the larger undeveloped open cut copper mining project in Australia (Kalkaroo).

The Curnamona Copper Project sits in a prolific polymetallic province in very close proximity to multiple world-class copper, gold and uranium resources, including: 40km from the Kalkaroo Copper Project (1.1Mt Cu & 3.1Moz Au), which Oz Minerals Limited recently entered into an option agreement to acquire from Havilah Resources Limited for up to $405 million 53km from Havilah's Mutooroo massive sulphide deposit (195kt Cu, 20kt Co, 82koz Au); 40km from Yarramba (33 Mlbs U3O8), 50km from Honeymoon (35 Mlbs U3O8), and 9km from Crocker (15 Mlbs U3O8) 20km along strike from Radium Hill, with historical production of 18 Mlbs U3O8, and Close to a high concentration of underexplored copper, gold and uranium occurrences. The Curnamona region is also considered an emerging REE province with strong associations between copper-gold mineralisation and REEs. The project is comprised of 15 blocks centred around the McArthur Fault, on the southwestern edge of the Curnamona Craton.
