TBC Bank has been named as one of the winners of the prestigious annual Trade Facilitation Programme ('TFP') Awards by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development ('EBRD') and has been recognized as the 'Most Active Issuing Bank in Georgia in 2019 in Trade Finance'. TBC Bank has not only been a leader in trade finance, but it has also actively collaborated with the EBRD on capacity enhancement and new advanced trade finance products development.

On the announcement of the TFP Awards, Francis Malige, EBRD Managing Director, Financial Institutions said: 'Trade finance is key to boosting economic development and growth across the EBRD's regions of operations. Our partner banks help to make this happen, by providing the financial means and support that allow companies to identify, explore and conquer new markets. Through our annual TFP awards, we are proud to recognize the achievements of partner banks in 27 countries, which are making a real impact and creatively use EBRD's financing products to support international trade.'

The EBRD Trade Facilitation Programme (TFP), established in 1999, aims to support international trade in countries where the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is investing. Within the programme, EBRD will issue guarantees to partner banks to support local exporters, importers and distributors. To date, the Trade Facilitation Programme exceeds €5 billion in 30 countries and in 2020, the Programme stepped up its support, providing amplified financing for trade with a record EUR 1.5 billion in the first five months of the year.
