TEO LT : Telia will be selling Xiaomi handsets

The company ABC Data is entering the Lithuanian market with smartphones of the Chinese giant Xiaomi, and Telia Lietuva was chosen to be the only official vendor thereof. Starting from 15 of June, four models of Xiaomi smartphones can be purchased in all Telia Lietuva retail outlets in Lithuania.

'Lithuania has become one of the first European Union states officially distributing Xiaomi smartphones and other products. This is very important, because users may purchase Xiaomi smartphones with software adapted for the region, Europe in this case, and the user interface is in Lithuanian. Moreover, warranty services performed by authorized service centres are ensured', said Tomas Janušauskas, Managing Director of ABC Data Lietuva.

According to him, Telia Lietuva was chosen an official vendor considering the network of sales outlets owned by the company and its growing customer base, which will allow presenting Xiaomi smartphones to a wide range of customers throughout Lithuania.

According to the Head of B2C of Telia Lietuva, Norbertas Žioba, no new smartphone brands have been presented in Lithuania for quite a while, even though market saturation is not yet exploited to the maximum.

'The supply of smartphones has been growing in the world, and users are interested and willing to try something new. In light of the above, we are expanding the selection of smartphones in our outlets and believe that the new brand will find its fans searching for quality at an attractive price', said N. Žioba.

Each Xiaomi smartphone sold in Telia Lietuva outlets will bear a special serial number, which will help distinguishing handsets sold by the official vendor from those purchased from non-official suppliers. Xiaomi smartphones and other devices distributed by ABC Data Lietuva in Lithuania will also have full guaranty services provided by authorized service centres.

First of all, Lithuanians are receptive to new products, they willingly try new things. Secondly, a steady growth has been observed in the region, and we hope that IT and consumer electronics sector as well as the sector of smartphones and other smart devices will grow here very rapidly', said Liu Yi, International Sales Director at Xiaomi.

Initially, Telia Lietuva retail outlets will offer four most popular Xiaomi phone brands, including Redmi 4A, Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4X and Mi Note 2. The price of the first three handsets without a mobile service plan ranges from EUR 159 to 259, while Mi Note 2 costs EUR 799. If purchased with service plans, the price of the smartphones starts from EUR 134.

It is planned to offer more Xiaomi devices and accessories in Lithuania in the future.
