SKOKIE, Ill. (AP) _ Tenneco Inc. (TEN) on Thursday reported a loss of $121 million in its second quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Skokie, Illinois-based company said it had a loss of $1.44. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 82 cents per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 52 cents per share.

The auto parts maker posted revenue of $4.67 billion in the period, topping Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $4.59 billion.
