SAN DIEGO (AP) _ Teradata Corp. (TDC) on Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $44 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The San Diego-based company said it had profit of 39 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 74 cents per share.

The data management company posted revenue of $491 million in the period.

For the current quarter ending in October, Teradata expects its per-share earnings to range from 30 cents to 34 cents.

The company expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.92 to $1.96 per share.

Teradata shares have more than doubled since the beginning of the year, while the S&P's 500 index has increased 18%. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $50.64, more than doubling in the last 12 months.
