That was the announcement made by new owner Elon Musk on Monday (November 21).

It is yet another delay to Musk's initial timeline to bring the service back onto the platform.

In a Tweet, Musk said "Holding off relaunch of Blue Verified until there is high confidence of stopping impersonation. Will probably use different color check for organizations than individuals."

The blue check mark used to be reserved for verified accounts of politicians, journalists and famous personalities.

A subscription option allowed anyone to get one if they were willing to pay $8 a month for it.

That was rolled out earlier in November to help Twitter grow revenue while Musk also fought to keep advertisers on the platform.

But Twitter paused the service as fake accounts grew.

Musk had said it would be relaunched on November 29th.

The Tesla CEO has had a dramatic start at Twitter, with some advertisers pausing spending on the site.

Hundreds of Twitter employees were also estimated to have quit last week after Musk set a Thursday deadline for staffers to sign up for 'long hours at high intensity' or leave.
