BANGKOK - March 8, 2022 - Thai Union Group PCL is celebrating International Women's Day 2022 by recognizing all its female colleagues across every level of the business and in all parts of the world where the Company operates. It will also share inspiring words from employees across all its operations in Asia, Africa, Europe and North America on Social Media every day over the coming weeks.

"We are really proud of the fact that women make up more than half of all Thai Union employees globally, but ongoing gender imbalances still need to be addressed throughout the global seafood industry, and we at Thai Union can also do more," said Thiraphong Chansiri, CEO at Thai Union Group. "I will continue to push for greater gender diversity in our Company, particularly across all levels of management, and I am pleased that last year we appointed two new female Board members - Parnsiree Amatayakul and Pakapun Leevutinun."

Chansiri said that women bring unique capabilities that are important for a progressive organization such as Thai Union, adding that they also offer much-needed empathy and compassion, which is critical during periods of uncertainty. Not only that, they contribute to building resilience in the Company, he said.

Thai Union's global Human Resources teams are also working hard to drive diversity as part of its global talent strategy, believing that a more diverse workforce leads to more innovation and greater business success. The Company has also focused on benefits designed to make it easier for employees to find work-life balance. For example, Thai Union North America offers expanded paid family leave to include fathers and partners, which helps provide equality and additional support for families.

In Thai Union Europe, the Company has been involved in initiatives including a cancer prevention program for women in Poland, a diversity and inclusion program in the UK, while in France we produced boxes of pink tuna cans in oil in partnership with the local association against breast cancer. Thai Union Europe also introduced new welfare and improved benefits for colleagues during pregnancy.

"In Thailand, Thai Union provides a wide range of welfare and benefits to pregnant employees, including an allowance to support living costs, providing a space for new mothers at our facilities to comfortably feed their babies, along with training on caring for newborns and good nutrition, and both maternity and paternity leave," Chansiri said.
