After the registration deadline on 17th December last year, the latest TERA-Award competition underwent a thorough preliminary screening process conducted by a judging panel consisting of domestic and international experts from the industry, academic and research sectors. The six focus areas of this latest edition of the competition include 'Renewable Energy', 'Energy Storage & Conversion', 'Carbon Neutrality', 'Hydrogen', 'Energy Digitalisation', and the newly introduced 'Green Smart City'. The shortlist includes projects from all six categories, with 'Energy Storage and Energy Conversion' and 'Hydrogen Energy' having the highest number of shortlisted entries, with 11 and 8, respectively.

The top 32 projects will undergo further selection, during which they will showcase their innovative concepts, development strategies, and more to the expert judging panel. The panel will evaluate the projects based on four key criteria: innovation, implementation, talent capability, and commercial viability. From this evaluation, the top 10 projects will advance to the final, and the award winners will be announced in April.
The third edition of the TERA-Award witnessed remarkable global participation, with 450 zero-carbon technology entrepreneurial projects from 59 countries and regions. This represents an increase of over 40% and 60% compared to the previous edition, marking the highest number of entries in the competition's history.
