DTZ appointed exclusive marketing agent for the former NSG Pilkington Glass Manufacturing plant in Lathrop, CA

San Francisco, CA: DTZ announced today that a brokerage team from its San Francisco office has been appointed exclusive agent to sell the former NSG Pilkington Float Glass Manufacturing property comprising ±185.59 acres at

500 East Louise Avenue in Lathrop, California.
From 1962 until 2014, the NSG Pilkington plant was a major regional employer producing automobile and architectural float glass. Over time the plant's labor force slowly downsized due to decreasing consumer demand for window glass and the economic downturn in 2008. NSG, the parent company of Pilkington North America, continues to manufacture glass products in other facilities globally.
With the scheduled closing of the plant due to required infrastructure upgrades and the decision to sell, Pilkington North America selected the marketing team of Senior Vice Presidents David Klein and Jill Arias, Vice President Jennifer Essner and Associate Matthew Lehman of the DTZ San Francisco office to market the site to sell by year-end 2014. The City of Lathrop has expressed its willingness to fast-track entitlements and permits in a collaborative effort to attract the optimal buyer, underscoring its pro-business approach. Due to the site's high power capacity, large open space, I-5 freeway accessibility, nearby new housing starts and proximity to the
diverse San Joaquin County and Bay Area labor pools, the site is attractive to users in the technology, automotive, distribution, manufacturing and retail industries.
"The NSG site is comprised of three separate parcels but it will be sold as one contiguous parcel-in-fee including all land under the plant in a closed-bid successive offering," said David Klein. "The property will be sold with the existing plant and all other improvements on the property in as-is condition and with its current entitlements
for 'General Industrial.' An Offering Memorandum and bid details will follow."
