On a per-share basis, the South San Francisco, California-based company said it had a loss of 39 cents. Losses, adjusted for asset impairment costs, came to 4 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 7 cents per share.

The molecular diagnostic company posted revenue of $98.2 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported a loss of $74.4 million, or $1.02 per share. Revenue was reported as $361.1 million.

Veracyte expects full-year revenue in the range of $394 million to $402 million.
