AllianzGI NFJ Dividend, Interest & Premium Strategy Fund reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended October 31, 2016. For the quarter, the fund reported net investment income was $8,816,006 or $0.10 per share against $8,658,677 or $0.09 per share a year ago. Net realized and change in unrealized loss was $2,531,453 or $0.03 per share against $90,893,032 or $0.96 per share a year ago.
For the nine months, the fund reported net investment income was $25,219,796 or $0.27 per share against $27,055,404 or $0.28 per share a year ago. Net realized and change in unrealized gain was $118,951,304 or $1.25 per share against loss of $82,389,762 or $0.87 per share a year ago. Virtus Dividend, Interest & Premium Strategy Fund (the Fund) is a diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fund's investment objective is to seek current income and gains, with a secondary objective of long-term capital appreciation. The Fund seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing across the capital structure in companies across a range of industries and technologies. The Fund normally invests at least 80% of its net assets in a combination of securities issued by artificial intelligence companies and in other companies that stand to benefit from artificial intelligence and other technology opportunities. The Fund's 15% of net assets are invested in artificial intelligence companies. The Fund normally invests at least 30% of its managed assets in convertible securities. The Fund does not normally invest more than 20% of its managed assets in high-yield securities. The Fund's investment advisor is Virtus Investment Advisers, Inc.
