We are delighted that our project Victoria Gate has won the RIBA National Award 2017.

The RIBA National Awards are given to buildings across the UK recognised as significant contributions to architecture.

Victoria Gate is anchored by the flagship John Lewis store as well as 30 new retailers and restaurants making it the go to premium shopping, leisure and dining destination in the North. The Victoria Gate Arcades are designed as a two-storey, twin arcade with a complex roof scape continuing the grand history of Leeds' 19th century arcades.

Waterman is proud to have provided multidiscipline services for the development and were also appointed by Sir Robert McAlpine to complete the multidisciplinary engineering services design as part of their design and build contract, with additional expertise provided on the acoustics, fire engineering and transportation.

Victoria Gate Arcades will now be considered for the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize which celebrates the Best Building in the UK.

Congratulations to all those involved in this great project!
