Commencing Mailing of Annual General Meeting Materials

Weatherford International plc (the "Company") will hold its annual general
meeting of shareholders ("AGM") on May 26, 2021. On or about April 23, 2021, the
Company expects to commence the mailing and distribution of its Irish meeting
notice, a letter to shareholders and voting information relating to the AGM (the
"AGM Materials"). A copy of the AGM Materials is furnished as Exhibit 99.1
hereto and incorporated by reference into this Item 7.01.

The AGM Materials and related proxy card will be made available to each shareholder entitled to vote at the AGM. Shareholders are urged to read the entire notice as it contains important information about the proposed corporate actions.

After the AGM, the Company will file a Current Report on Form 8-K to disclose the voting results.
