SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

Wincanton PLC, up 19% at 608.00 pence, 12-month range 187.00p-609.00p. The logistics provider has received an offer from GXO Logistics Inc. Under the offer, Wincanton shareholders will receive 605p per share. The acquisition price values Wincanton at approximately GBP762 million on a fully diluted basis and values Wincanton at approximately GBP764 million on an enterprise value basis. On Monday, Wincanton accepted a revised, increased bid from CEVA Logistics. The new offer from CEVA, worth 480p per share, values Wincanton at GBP604.7 million on a fully diluted basis. CEVA is a subsidiary of CMA CGM, a shipping and logistics company based in Marseille, France.

On The Beach Group PLC, down 4.4% at 146.39p, 12-month range 81.24p-181.60p. The beach package holiday retailer falls, after a slow start to 2024. In the year-to-date the stock is down 13%.
