WiSA Technologies, Inc. announces the world?s first demonstration of WiSA E software embedded into an HDTV. With WiSA E embedded multichannel wireless audio capabilities, HDTVs can connect to external soundbars and speakers without the need for an HDMI cable and are no longer limited by the typically low quality of internal TV speakers. Implemented on a Hisense Android TV, the demonstration highlights how WiSA E is versatile software and agnostic to the TV SoC platform.

Key highlights of the CES demonstration include: Dramatically reduces soundbar costs: By embedding WiSA E software onto the TV, WiSA E eliminates the need for the soundbar to process the audio decoding and wired connections to the TV. This saves the cost of an SoC, royalty payments, and HDMI and optical cables. Support for all speaker types: WiSA E interoperates with all speaker types, including surround, subwoofer, up-firing, soundbars, and smart speakers.

Additionally, the WiSA module for speakers supports multichannel audio out (up to three audio channels). WiSA provides a common software integration platform for TVs, Android devices, and speaker brands, ensuring seamless interoperability. WiSA E for Android and WiSA Connect (intelligent background event handler) combine to manage wireless audio transport over standard Wi-Fi, connected clients (e.g., cell phones, tablets), system notifications (e.g., volume), and software updates.
