FRISCO, Texas (AP) _ Addus HomeCare Corp. (ADUS) on Monday reported first-quarter profit of $8.7 million.

On a per-share basis, the Frisco, Texas-based company said it had profit of 54 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, were 77 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 64 cents per share.

The provider of home-based personal care, nursing and rehabilitative therapy services posted revenue of $190.2 million in the period.

Addus HomeCare shares have declined 24% since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed slightly more than 9% in the last 12 months.
