Carnival : Hurricane Dorian Relief Supplies on Their Way to Freeport via Two Carnival Cruise Line Ships

While Carnival Cruise Line returns this week with scheduled visits to most Bahamian ports of call, two Carnival Cruise Line ships - Carnival Pride and Carnival Liberty - will make stops in Freeport to deliver Hurricane Dorian relief supplies to assist Bahamas residents in the aftermath of the storm.

Dozens of pallets of water, the most critical need, along with generators, chain saws, prepared meals and medical supplies were loaded onto the two ships to be delivered later this week.

Through a coordinated effort with the company's global sourcing division and vendors, as well as port and government officials, the supplies will be delivered to Freeport by the Carnival Liberty on Sept. 12 and Carnival Pride on Sept. 13.

The company's hurricane relief efforts also include a $2 million pledge from Carnival Corporation and the Micky and Madeleine Arison Family Foundation, for funding and in-kind support. Carnival is also underwriting the purchase and shipment of goods in conjunction with Tropical Shipping and The Bahamas National Emergency Management Agency. Those shipments started arriving last week and will continue throughout the month.

Carnival has also partnered with two charities doing work on the ground in the Bahamas - World Central Kitchen, delivering meals, and Direct Relief, delivering urgent medical supplies. The company's employees and guests are being asked to make monetary donations to these organizations to help them in their relief efforts, and terminal agents at U.S. homeports are also asking guests to support the effort during the check-in process.
