More than 600 people were in attendance to welcome a 'new chapter' for Crawford & Company's Netherlands and Belgium at the annual Herring Party at the Boat Club, Rotterdam this month.

Herring parties are traditional Dutch gatherings which bring people together to socialise while enjoying pickled herring ('haring') and other local delicacies. This year's Crawford event was particularly symbolic, however, as it marked the departure of the Country Manager, George Oostrom, and the appointment of a new leadership team in Niels de Kock and Rob Kleinveld.

Niels, who joined Crawford in 2003 and works with a broad range of clients across Europe, takes over as Country Manager for Netherlands and Belgium, while Rob Kleinveld, who has been at the company for 20 years and works with some of Crawford's biggest European clients in the area of Global Technical Services (GTS), takes up a newly created position as Client Director.

Speaking at the event, Mike Jones, Head of Operations, Europe, expressed his gratitude to Oostrom for his contribution in recent years, and wished Niels de Kock and Rob Kleinveld luck as they look to enhance Crawford's position in these two key territories.

He went on to highlight opportunities for growth in both third-party administration and major and complexloss adjuster as Crawford GTS.

Addressing our valued guests and employees in attendance, Niels de Kock said he was looking forward to work and to the challenge of ahead and thought saw growth opportunities with the support of Rob Kleinveld and all employees.
