GAZ Group delivered 50 low-entry large-class city buses LiAZ-529360 to the city of Nizhny Novgorod. The buses were procured by the city administration under the project 'Social bus' providing for equipment of the city bus fleet with barrier-free buses for transportation of disabled persons as well as for the purpose of preparation of the capital of Volga region for the upcoming World Cup 2018. All buses fully meet up-to-date requirements for public passenger transportation.

Low-entry large-class buses LiAZ-529360 are designed for operation on the city routes and feature all relevant equipment for transportation of handicapped passengers - this model is equipped with a mechanical wheel-chair ramp. The buses come equipped with YMZ Euro-4 diesel engines with 246 hp, ZF automatic transmissions, GLONASS equipment and are suitable for transportation of 104 passengers (24 seats plus 1 place for disabled passengers). Advanced painting technologies, anticorrosion treatment and side panels made of galvanized sheet steel ensure protection of the bus body against the perforation corrosion for a period of up to 12 years. Extra corrosion resistance is achieved through use of the front and rear-end masks made of high-quality fiberglass material.

All parts and assemblies of the bus feature high reliability, improved consumer properties, high maintainability and reliability as well as one of the lowest maintenance costs figures in its class.

Valery Shantsev, Nizhny Novgorod governor:

- The new buses are low-entry ones and suitable for transportation of handicapped people, who are not only the persons with limited mobility due to musculoskeletal disorders - they are also elderly people and parents with perambulators. And, of course, the level of comfort and microclimate provided for by these new buses, are absolutely different. It goes without saying - the new vehicles are good, but at the same time logistics shall be also developed - proper distribution and availability of buses on the city routes depending on the townsmen' demand and vehicle headway not to keep people waiting.

Nikolay Odintsov, Director for corporate sales development GAZ Group:

- Development of the infrastructure in the region requires application of complex transport solutions. GAZ Group is ready to offer such solutions. In Nizhny Novgorod, there are already buses in use, which rolled off our assembly lines. These are both extra-large capacity vehicles - articulated low-floor LiAZ buses and medium- and small-class buses - Vector, Vector NEXT and GAZ minibuses. The new buses, which arrived today in Nizhny Novgorod, are reliable vehicles with barrier-free features for limited mobility passengers and equipped with domestic parts and assemblies to the maximum extent possible. These vehicles comply with the new image of the big city. And these are the buses, which will meet athletes and participants of the upcoming Worl Cup 2018.
