ExxonMobil on Tuesday said it signed a five-year agreement that will see Global Clean Energy Holdings supply 2.5 million barrels of renewable diesel per year beginning in 2022.

Global Clean Energy will supply ExxonMobil from a refinery in Bakersfield, Calif., which is being retooled to produce renewable diesel, the companies said.

ExxonMobil said it plans to distribute the renewable diesel within California and possibly to other domestic and international markets.

The renewable diesel will be produced using Global Clean Energy's patented varieties of camelina and other non-petroleum feedstocks, the companies said.
