More than 200 participants will gather on November 24 and 25 in the innovation LAB of Otvoreno učilište Algebra, all with the same goal - they will be looking for the best solution for future challenges of video communications. This year's HACK IT DAYZ event will be the biggest ever. In addition to the well-known 24-hour hackathon, all participants and their guests will also get an exclusive conference program where top experts will share their knowledge and experience on applying technology trends from their own areas.

Erik Meijer, an expert from Deutche Telekoma responsible for global digital transformation, will talk about world communication trends. Cofounder and CEO of Five, Luka Abrus, will take all the attendees through his own path of creating the company from a start-up, and prof. Ninoslav Mimica from the Psychiatric Hospital Vrapče will share with the participants ways how technology can be in the service of mankind and responsible for raising the quality of life. Mladen Vlašić, an analyst from Google, a multinational company, will talk about new ways to approach more demanding consumers while Vedran Blagus from South Central Ventures fund will devote his lecture to relationships between technology companies and investors. Renowned experts from the IT world will be joined by a well-known multidisciplinary artist OKO, who will talk from her perspective about the impact of new forms of communication on creating relationships between artists and audience.

In addition to the content-rich lectures, a panel discussion on the future of the 5G network on the mass market will be held at the first conference during the HACK IT DAYZ. Participants of the panel are Dr. Leo Mršić, manager of Algebra and Vice Dean for research and development of Algebra LAB, director of Access Networks Sector of Hrvatski Telekom Nataša Malić, and Boris Jukić, head of TV&M solutions in Ericsson Nikola Tesla.

This year's HACK IT DAYZ is organized by Hrvatski Telekom, with the support of Deutsche Telekom and its start-up accelerator hub:raum, Otvoreno učilište Algebra, Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Samsung, Tportal.hr and Zagrebačka banka and Mastercard. The team that will present the best solution on the set topic at hackathon will win 30,000 kunas and a two-day workshop 'Acceleration & Design Thinking' to be held in Krakow.

Hrvatski Telekom constantly invests in the development of projects that include STEM - in addition to the traditional Hackathon, over the past two years it equipped more than 160 schools with state-of-the-art IoT technology, including more than 2,000 children and training 130 mentors. 'Innovation is teamwork, and most new ideas do not come from one Eureka! Moment. It is a product of continuous perfecting and improvement of the knowledge of large groups of people,' says Davor Tomašković, CEO of Hrvatski Telekom, adding that the event is of utmost importance for the development of STEM skills as it encourages more people to engage in topics that will be crucial to our future.
