Komercijalna banka has presented today its new service 'KOMeKEŠ' (SEND MONEY) that enables quick, efficient and safe money transfer.

President of the Executive Board of Komercijalna banka Alexander Picker said at the launch event that there would be fewer cash payments in the future, but that cash still 'ruled' for the moment.

'This product, which is just one in the range of products the Bank is preparing, allows you to send money quickly. All it takes is for the sender to have an account with Komercijalna banka and a smart phone, while the recipient needs to have a mobile phone and access to one of Komercijalna banka's 274 ATMs,' said the President of the Executive Board.

He also added that, while everyone is just talking about digitalization, Komercijalna banka is actually doing it.

'Everybody thinks banking is boring, but when it comes to my money, I would prefer it boring and stable, rather than unreliable and risky. Let us, the boring bankers, present you a new product that is stable, safe, simple and, would you believe it, not boring', said Mr. Picker.

Executive director for banking technologies and strategic development Petar Stefanović said that Komercijalna banka had launched a modern money transfer service.

He said that it was now easy to send money quickly and easily, in just a few steps, to anyone who has a mobile phone.

The idea is for this product to be used not by professionals, but clients from the age of 7 to 107, said Stefanović and added that the ease of use of this service was attested a couple of days ago when a lady aged 74 managed, on her own, to withdraw from an ATM the cash sent to her via 'KOMeKEŠ' service.

Stefanović emphasised that the service was available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at a minimal cost to the sender, of 25 dinars per transaction. The lowest amount that can be sent is 500 and the highest 20,000 dinars.

The recipient does not need to have an account in any bank. All it takes is a mobile phone.

Money can be sent to any person with a telephone number registered at one of the mobile operators in Serbia.

'When developing this new service, we placed an emphasis on security. That is why we introduced triple protection - two codes and the amount of money sent, that must match in order to withdraw money from an ATM', said the Director of the Digital Banking Division Srđan Savić.

Apart from numerous journalists and guests, the launch event was also attended by the members of the Serbian national taekwondo team Milica Mandić and Tijana Bogdanović, who were among the first ones to try out the new Komercijalna banka's service.
