This week The Law Debenture Team welcomed a new Trustee Director, Samantha Pitt.

Samantha joins from Network Rail where she was Group Treasurer. This was the latest role in a career spanning 25 years of treasury, corporate finance and debt financing positions. Many of these roles have been in the regulated utilities space, both private and public sector.

Samantha also has extensive experience as a pension trustee having acted as trustee to the Network Rail DC, CARE and DB pension schemes. She chaired the investment committees for both the DC and CARE schemes which saw her lead regular investment strategy reviews and implement a liability hedging strategy.

Commenting on Samantha's appointment LawDeb Pension Trustees Managing Director Michael Chatterton said:

'Samantha joins us with significant experience of chairing committees and acting as a pension trustee. These skills combined with her treasury and corporate finance background will no doubt place her in high demand from pension schemes looking to professionalise their trustee boards.'

In addition to her professional and pension trustee roles Samantha acts as a NED of The Guinness Partnership (one of the largest Housing Associations) and Chair of its Audit and Risk Committee. She has recently been asked to chair the Pensions Committee of The Guinness Partnership to consider future pensions arrangements.

Samantha is ACCA and PMI Trustee qualified. Prior to Network Rail her roles included Corporate Finance Manager at Strategic Rail Authority; Assistant Group Treasurer at Powergen and roles in audit, then corporate development and finance at Cable & Wireless.

The LawDeb team is thrilled to welcome Samantha.
