(Photo 2) Interactive OLED display lets people donate to charity

Seoul, Korea (Jul. 30, 2019) - LG Display, the world's leading innovator of display technologies, announced today that it is joining forces with world-famous department store Harrods to showcase the latest OLED TV technologies in a unique and interactive window installation which will be at Harrods, London from July 29 to September 1.

LG Display unveiled the stunning installation featuring OLED technology and the very latest TVs from leading brands including, LG Electronics, Bang & Olufsen, Panasonic and Philips, through an impressive launch event at Harrods on July 29 UK time. The cutting-edge OLED TVs of the four leading brands, which all use OLED TV panels made by LG Display, are being featured in the stores famous show windows surrounding Door 5 of the iconic Harrods', Knightsbridge building.

Only the world's most desirable brands are displayed in the show windows of Harrods, demonstrating the retailer's willingness to embrace OLED as an unmatched next-generation display technology that offers abundant form factors and impressive features such as authentic emissive color, 'thinnovative (thin and innovative)' design, 'everywhere view', and an 'ocular guard,' which means easy on the eyes. Indeed, LG Display's OLED panel is certified by TÜV Rheinland, a world-class testing and certification authority, as a display technology providing optimal brightness and less blue light, therefore relieving eye fatigue. In addition to its unsurpassed picture quality, OLED's characteristics raise this technology to the next level and make it a great complement to premium TVs and futuristic applications.

In addition to showcasing the very latest OLED TVs within the show windows, LG Display and Harrods have also launched their charity campaign in partnership with the UK's leading children's charity, the NSPCC. There will be a charity window at Harrods where customers will be able to tap and donate up to £100,000 to the charity. Any funds raised by the window takeover will go directly towards the NSPCC's vital services in the capital, helping to support children in London and protect them from abuse and neglect. The money will help to fund Childline, Speak Out, Stay Safe, school assemblies and the NSPCC service centers.

As part of the partnership, a brand new OLED zone will also be installed on Harrods' 5th floor allowing visitors to fully experience what OLED TVs can offer. OLED POPs endorsed by Harrods will be placed next to each TV set to mark the superior quality of LG Electronics, Bang & Olufsen, Panasonic, and Philips OLED TVs.

The breathtaking opulence of OLED makes it a fitting partner for luxury retailer Harrods and the accompanying leading TV brands which are part of the installation. The support of these brands undeniably positions OLED as the superior next-generation display technology.
