MARCH 12, 2019 - London: Pearson has published its second annual Gender Pay Gap report for the year 2018.

Pearson's overall median gender pay gap for 2018 is 14 per cent, a small improvement on 2017's figure of 15 per cent. The UK median pay gap for 2018 is 17.9%*. Pearson's mean gender pay gap remains steady year on year, at 21 per cent. The gender pay gap at Pearson in Great Britain remains primarily a result of having fewer women in senior level roles.

Pearson continues to work on ways to better support women to realize their full potential and progress into the most senior roles, helping to develop a much stronger pipeline of diverse leaders.

Chief Human Resources Officer Anna Vikström Persson, said: 'Our second report on gender pay shows we are making progress, but confirms that we still have a lot of work to do. This is not a surprise, we know it takes time to thoughtfully address gender diversity. Our strong commitment to diversity and inclusion in all its forms remains unchanged and we remain focused on fostering a more diverse workforce.'
