The award has been assigned by Automotive News Europe to top managers of the automotive industry

Turin, October 1st, 2018-Silvio Pietro Angori,CEO of Pininfarina S.p.A., is one of theEurostars 2018nominated byAutomotive News Europe,the European edition of Automotive News, theworld's most authoritative automotive magazine. The prize is assigned to top managers who have particularly distinguished themselves in the business sectors covered by their respective automotive companies.

This is the motivation for the award: "Under Angori's leadership,Pininfarina completed a long and painful restructuring that forced the founding family to give control of the company to creditor banks and exit the contract manufacturing sector to focus on design and engineering consulting. After Indian Mahindra Group took a controlling 76 percent stake in 2015, reducing the debt burden, Angori ignited a growth spurt. As a result, Pininfarina reported strong first-half results that included a net profit of 3.1 million euros".

The award will be made this evening during an event organised by Automotive News Europe at the Paris Motor Show, in the presence of top representatives from the world car industry.

Silvio Pietro Angori is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Pininfarina Group since April 2009. He joined Pininfarina on January 2007 as Chief Operating Officer. Heholds a Master's Degree of Business Administration from the Booth School of BusinessofUniversity of Chicago, US, and he also has a Master's Degree in Theoretical Physics from "La Sapienza" University in Rome, Italy.Prior to Pininfarina he worked at ArvinMeritor Inc. now Meritor Inc., a leading global automotive and commercial vehicle components and systems supplier, at Fiat Research Centre and at Agusta Westland Helicopters, a leading international aeronautical company.
