Public Service : Two Dozen PSEG Long Island Senior Leaders Roll Up Their Sleeves To Build Two Habitat for Humanity Homes

(Uniondale, NY-Sept. 12, 2018) - PSEG Long Island President and COO Dan Eichhorn and two dozen of the utility's senior leaders traded their laptops and briefcases for hard hats and tool belts on Friday. The employee volunteers pitched in to help build side-by-side Habitat for Humanity houses in Bay Shore for two Long Island families who are expected to be neighbors this winter.

The 30 senior PSEG Long Island employees who participated included vice presidents and directors representing every area of PSEG Long Island's work-transmission and distribution, finance, legal, construction, customer relations, and power markets. The team put up vinyl siding, worked on interior beams and installed insulation in the new homes. This is the third time PSEG Long Island employee volunteers have worked on these houses, including dozens who participated in Habitat's 'Women's Build' in May.

'At PSEG Long Island we are committed to giving back to our communities,' said Eichhorn. 'We take our commitments seriously and today's event is an example of just that. PSEG Long Island's senior management team is proud to be a part of Habitat for Humanity and assist with the building of two houses for two great families in need.'
The idea of a PSEG Long Island 'executive build' came to Eichhorn in the spring after he participated in Suffolk County Habitat for Humanity's 'CEOBuild' with the executives of several other Long Island companies. PSEG Long Island employees regularly volunteer with Habitat for Humanity through the utility's Community Partnership Program.

'Habitat's mission of building affordable, quality homes for the families of Suffolk County can only be accomplished through the dedicated efforts of our sponsors and volunteers,' said Les Scheinfeld, interim executive director and director of development.
