This week the call goes out for engineering students to come and enter the 2019 RWE Graduate Scheme. We at RWE are looking for the energy experts of the future to carry on the fantastic tradition of power generation and energy innovation and to help secure the UK's energy supply.

Never has there been a more exciting industry to be a part of, constantly changing and adapting to fit the energy needs of the nation and the government's aspiration for a low carbon energy system. With this in mind it is understood that over the next 20 years £100's of billions of investment will be needed in the UK to provide the infrastructure and replacement of retiring power plants.

Our IET & IMechE accredited programme provides the perfect blend of development; including the technical, practical and business skills needed to be an engineer in the changing world of Energy. Spread over the two years, training includes: Specialist Technical skills courses, CMI Diploma in Team Leading, IOSH Managing Safely and Environmental & Chemistry skills courses.

Graduates who are part of the team will help deliver key engineering projects across a variety of areas including: Power station maintenance, shutdown Engineering support, Power station operations and commercial.

RWE is the UK's second largest generator, supplying around 15% of the UK's electricity with over 8.5GW of installed capacity. We own and operate the UK's largest fleet of gas-powered stations, along with a small amount of coal and biomass. The gas fleet includes two of the most modern and highly efficient plant in Europe.

Through the energy transition RWE has established itself as providing flexible capacity supporting security of energy supply, making it a key partner to enable the UK to transition to low carbon electricity future.

Andrew Allan, Early Careers Specialist, RWE Generation; 'We are proud of our Engineering Graduate Scheme; over the years it has been developed to support our modern fleet of power stations. This year we hope to find more inspired and enthusiastic recruits to join the RWE team.'
