Sonae : opens new retail spaces in Beja and creates 116 jobs

Continente Modelo, Worten, MO, Well's, note!, Zu and Bagga have new shops in Beja, contributing to serve its customers in Alentejo even better and reinforce the presence of Sonae's retail businesses in the region.

Sonae will reinforce its presence in Alentejo with the opening of 7 of its brands' shops in the new Beja Retail Park, tomorrow, 20th July. The project includes a Continente Modelo shop and a shopping mall with the presence of brands Worten, MO, note!, Well's, ZU and Bagga. The opening of these 7 Sonae shops, with a total commercial area of more than 3,400 Sq. m, allows the creation of 116 new direct jobs in Beja and offers families in the region the chance to benefit from a wide offer of products at the best prices.

It is an important investment by Sonae's retail units, as it creates more employment and well-being for local communities, as well as it offers, from now on, special deals for the customers. This opening is part of Sonae's retail business growth strategy, which has a stake in the expansion of its activity in Portugal, by offering customers the best market value proposition, combining quality and price.

The new space is located on Estrada das Apolinárias, benefiting from the modern shop formats of Sonae's brands, which have contributed to the choice of more and more customers across the country and the reinforcement of the brands' competitive positioning.

Beja's new Continente Modelo will provide the community with the most recent innovations of these new generation shops, translated into a unique buying experience, but also in the best environmental practice. The shop benefits from the most advanced refrigeration, acclimatization and lighting systems and hardware, as well as waste management systems, with emphasis on recycling solutions.

The contribution given by Continente Modelo in Beja to foster environmental citizenship within the local community hasn't been forgotten, as the shop is equipped to collect used cooking oil, batteries or corks that will later be recycled. In the same way, Beja's Continente Modelo will provide its customers with a variety of Reusable Bags.
