T&G Global has congratulated apple juice partner, The Apple Press, for winning a trophy at the recent 2018 New Zealand Food Awards.

Beating 23 other entries, The Apple Press JAZZ™ juice was crowned 'Best Non-Alcoholic Beverage' at a gala dinner at Auckland's Sky City Convention Centre in front of 400 guests.

T&G owns the trademark for JAZZ™ apples which it grows domestically and around the world. The popular apple is one of two T&G varieties used by The Apple Press to make its award-winning juice - the other being Envy™.

T&G's head of innovation and quality, Morgan Rogers says JAZZ™ apples have been winning consumers over around the world for 16 years. 'It's fantastic that The Apple Press team has won this accolade and are introducing more kiwis to the refreshing taste of JAZZ™ apples, albeit in a new format.'

The New Zealand Food Awards have been running since 1987 and celebrate creative innovation from New Zealand's food and beverage manufacturers. More than 220 products were entered this year, with 67 products from 54 companies being named finalists.

Ross Beaton, co-founder of The Apple Press says he absolutely thrilled with the win. 'We are a still a new start-up so to win a national award after five months is just fantastic. We are really proud of our products and believe we make the world's best apple juice, so this award means a lot.'

Beaton went on to thank T&G Global, The Apple Press team, customers and supporters including Callaghan Innovation and NZTE.
