  • KraussMaffei Executive Michael Ruf lays foundation stone
  • Opening in Einbeck planned for the second quarter of 2020

VGP, a leading European provider of high-quality logistics and commercial real estate, is developing a new production and administration facility for Burgsmüller in Einbeck. For 30 years, Burgsmüller has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of the KraussMaffei Group, one of the world's leading manufacturers of machinery and plants for the production and processing of plastics and rubber.

The new production site to be developed is located on a plot of land of approx. 2 ha, will on completion accommodate a 7,200 m² production hall and approx. 1100 m² for neighbouring administration and social rooms, and offer tailor-made solutions for the long-established company. Michael Ruf, COO of KraussMaffei, together with Burgsmüller employees, laid the foundation stone for this project today.

'The move from our historic roots in Kreiensen to the new production hall in Einbeck is an important milestone for Burgsmüller,' says Managing Director Jens Biel, adding: 'With VGP, we have a reliable partner at our side, with whom the KraussMaffei Group has already had very good experience at other locations, and who has developed the new site entirely in line with our individual requirements and ideas'.

Only seven minutes by car from the city centre of Einbeck, the property is located near the motorway 7 north of the exit Northeim Nord.

Dr. Sabine Michalek, Mayor of Einbeck, is very pleased with the project: 'For us, VGP is a reliable and professional partner with whom we can further strengthen our region. We welcome the fact that the KraussMaffei subsidiary Burgsmüller will be given the opportunity to build new production capacities'.

Reinhold Hilbers, Lower Saxony's Minister of Finance, is also happy with the decision regarding the location: 'As a representative of the state government, I very much welcome the associated commitment to Einbeck and Lower Saxony. The project has a strong signalling effect and underlines the long-term and sustainable commitment of the Krauss Maffei Group in the region. The state government regards the digital transformation of the economy as very important. That's why I'm delighted that the new site is being built with a special focus on future-oriented digitalization. This will not only secure jobs, but also further expand high-quality jobs here in the region'.

Sustainability and energy efficiency are always central parameters for the properties developed by VGP. For the project in Einbeck, VGP is installing state-of-the-art building technology, which features very high energy efficiency thanks to numerous recovery systems. The basic
architectural and color concept corresponds to Burgsmüller's individual ideas and KraussMaffei's new brand positioning.

VGP Managing Director Darius Scheible underlines the importance of the location for his company: 'The new production site in Einbeck represents another milestone in our cooperation with the KraussMaffei Group. Together with those responsible in the city of Einbeck, we will continue to drive the economic importance of the location forward'.
The new site is scheduled for completion by 2020. Burgsmüller plans to start moving in the second quarter.
