Nirupama Rao

Nirupama Rao is the founder of The South Asian Symphony Foundation.
She currently holds the position of Independent Non-Executive Director at ITC Ltd., JSW Steel Ltd., and KEC International Ltd.
She is also a Director at the U.S.-India Business Council and a Member of the Governors Board at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
Additionally, she serves as a Trustee at the Museum of Art & Photography, a Member at the National Institute of Advanced Studies, a Council Member at the Indian Institute of Science, a Member of the Governors Board at the Indian Council for Research on Intl Economic Relations, and a Council Member at the World Refugee & Migration Council.
In her former roles, Ms. Rao served as an Independent Director at Max Financial Services Ltd., Coromandel International Ltd., Network18 Media & Investments Ltd., and TV18 Broadcast Ltd.
She was also a Director at Viacom 18 Media Pvt Ltd.
Currently, she is an Independent Non-Executive Director at Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.Ms. Rao completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Bangalore in 1971.
She then pursued her graduate degree at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University in 1972.
She also holds a doctorate degree from Pondicherry University.
