Profile
Dr. Moreland was the Vice Chancellor for Research at NC State University December 1993 through June 2002.
As Vice Chancellor, some of his duties involved oversight of new and unique partnerships with industry, government and the university including programmatic development of the Centennial Campus and all technology transfer activities.
He was also Interim Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs from January to July 1999 and again from January to July 2001.
Dr. Moreland authored numerous publications in the area of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and presented seminars on this subject.
He directed the research of twelve MS and PhD students.
His awards include Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma XI Research Award, the NC State Alumni Teaching Award, and the D.
H.
Hill Library Faculty Award.
Dr. Moreland received his Ph.D.
in Chemical Physics from the University of Florida in 1964.
