David S. Hong

Dr. David S.
Hong is a Consultant at Taiwan Institute of Economic Research.
His research interest includes industrial development, economic forecasting, energy and environmental economic analysis.
Dr. Hong is also involved with several public and private institutions like the Industrial Development Advisory Council, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Commission on National Income Statistics, Chinese Taipei Pacific Economic Cooperation Committee and APEC SME Crisis Management Center.
Prior to his roles at TIER, he had worked extensively in both public and private sectors in the US and in Taiwan like the Bureau of Finance, Taipei City Government, Council for Economic Planning & Development, Northern States Power Co. in Minneapolis and the Minnesota Department of Public Service, St. Paul US.
Dr. Hong received his Ph.D.
in Economics from the University of Minnesota.
