Before that, he served as a senior manager at AT&T (later Lucent) in a number of international sales, business development, and marketing roles.
The initial stages of his career were spent in software R&D and computer sales with the former Data General (now part of EMC), and as a market analyst at IDC.
Mr. Kainer earned his MBA from Wharton, and his BS in Computer Science & Engineering from University of Connecticut.
