Ghassan Salamé is a Trustee of Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a Professor of Political Sciences at the University of Saint-Joseph, the American University of Beirut, and the University of Paris I, and a Member of the Ford Foundation and the Lavoisier Stock Exchange.
He is a Director of the Institute of the Arab World, the Scientific Council of the CEDEJ, and the IRMC and President of the European University Institute and a Member of the Editorial Board of International Criticism and the Maghreb-Machrek.
Dr. Salamé has been a Professor at the Institute of Political Studies of Paris since 1988.
Prior to joining Bibliotheca Alexandrina, he was appointed as Director of Research at CNRS in 1981.
Previously, Dr. Salamé was Professor Visitor at the Institute of Brookings from 1985 to 1986 and a Member of the Commission of the Council of Research in Social Sciences of New York from 1985 to 1990.
He received a Doctorate degree in Literature from the University of Paris III in 1975 and Political Sciences from the University of Paris I in1978.
