A graduate of Indiana University School of Business in 1964, he received his Law Degree from Indiana University Law School in 1969.
He began his career managing investments in 1971 for the Indiana University Foundation as that organization's Vice President, Investments - a position he held for 20 years.
He founded Elliott & Associates in 1984, and in 1991 he left the Foundation to devote his full attention to building his firm.
