Louis Schweitzer

Louis Schweitzer is currently the Vice Chairman & Secretary at the French Institute of International Relations and the Chairman of Comité des Salons, Maison de la Culture de la Seine-Saint-Denis, La Fondation Droit Animal, Éthique et Sciences, Adrienne & Pierre Sommer Foundation, L'Oréal USA, Inc., Fondation Nationale des Sciences Politiques, Société des Amis du Musée du Quai Branly, and Tallano SA. In the past, Mr. Schweitzer served as the Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Renault SA from 1986 to 2005.
He was also the Independent Non-Executive Chairman of AstraZeneca PLC from 2004 to 2012 and the Chairman of Volvo AB from 2001 to 2012.
Additionally, he held positions such as Chairman-Supervisory Board at Le Monde SA, Chairman & President at Renault-Nissan BV, Chairman at HALDE and Festival d'Avignon, and Chairman of Fédération des Plateformes Initiative France from 2011 to 2020.
He served as a Director-Supervisory Board at Koninklijke Philips NV from 1997 to 2008 and as an Independent Director at BNP Paribas SA from 1993 to 2013.
He was also an Independent Director at Veolia Environnement SA, L'Oréal SA, Électricité de France SA, Philips Electronics NV, musée du quai Branly, Musée du Louvre, and Banque Publique d'Investissement.
Mr. Schweitzer completed his undergraduate studies at Sciences Po and Ecole Nationale d'Administration.
