AlpInvest Partners, Inc. (AlpInvest) is the New York City private equity subsidiary of Netherlands-based AlpInvest Partners BV, ultimately held by The Carlyle Group LP (NASDAQ: CG). Established in 1999 as NIB Capital Private Equity, the firm became AlpInvest Partners in 2004. They were the first exclusive private equity manager for a public pension fund and invest worldwide across primary funds, secondaries, and direct investment (co-investment) channels, covering the entire private equity spectrum. In addition to the New York office, AlpInvest has offices in Amsterdam, Hong Kong and London. They are a socially responsible investor which works to promote sustainability and governance as an important factor in investment choices. They are a signatory to the UN Principles for Responsible Investments and exclude direct investments in companies that are directly involved in the manufacturing or distribution of products that clearly violate Dutch and relevant international conventions. They also explore sustainability-themed investments.

Abu Dhabi Investment Authority - private equity (ADIA) is a private equity arm of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority headquartered in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The firm began investing in private equity as early as in 1989 to diversify ADIA’s portfolio and to seek risk-adjusted returns that exceed those possible in the public equity markets.
