Indonesia is aiming to develop its palm oil-based biodiesel to 40% by July 2021, the coordinating minister of economic affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, said on Thursday.
The biodiesel with 40% palm oil feedstock called "B40", will combine 30% fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) and 10% of "Green Diesel" made out of palm oil with conventional diesel, Hartarto said in a television interview with CNBC Indonesia.
Indonesia currently makes biodiesel containing 30% palm oil, mixing 30% of FAME with regular diesel.
