  The U.K.'s Competition and Markets Authority said Wednesday it is inviting comments on a proposed joint venture between British pub operator Marston's PLC and Danish brewer Carlsberg AS, as it considers whether the deal might hurt competition. 


  The invitation to comment closes on Sept. 2, the antitrust regulator said. 


  Marston's in May said it planned to form the venture with Carlsberg UK Holdings Ltd. to create Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Co., a U.K. brewer and beer distributor. Last month, the pub operator said it expected the joint venture to be completed in the fourth quarter.
