Communications services companies ticked down as concerns about the increasingly competitive streaming business lingered.

Netflix estimated that an advertising-supported version of its streaming service would reach about 40 million viewers globally by the third quarter of 2023.

Paramount Global Chief Executive Officer Robert Bakish said the fear of a broad slowdown in advertising "is a little overblown."

Audiobooks have been "by far the fastest growing part" of digital e-books in News Corp.'s publishing business in recent years, said Chief Executive Robert Thomson at a Goldman Sachs conference.
