Health-care companies rose, but not by as much as the broad market, amid lingering concerns about the profitability of health insurers.

Humana, UnitedHealth Group and others have raised concerns about an increase in medical costs as Americans seek out more procedures following years of reticence to undergo discretionary visits to the hospital.

Shares of Humana fell by more than 2% and are down 14% for the year to date.

UnitedHealth shares are down almost 7% for the year to date.
